How can the MediaMonkey Remote be improved?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Fast Scrolling & "offline" Index

    In long lists, it's custom that you're able to scroll fast on Android by having the initial letters alphabetically on the right side in order to scroll fast to some specific point. As MM is probably used by ppl with a lot of music, this would make sense. In addition it would be more than useful to save the song/artist/album index on the phone, so that scrolling won't take ages to load, as it even now takes some time if u scroll down fast. But thx for the app anyways, it's great!

  2. Add custom Hotkeys

    There is a lot of space on a new smartphone or tablet screen, and I think it would be great if we could have like 10 or 12 buttons that we could assign hotkeys to. They would be sent to mm (a bit like aio remote but without switching). This could allow to do great things like launching custom scripts for library tagging (and it would be a feature I'd be ready to spend a couple of euros for).

  4. Have "Find more from same..." option in MediaMonkey to quickly search for more tracks of the same Artist or Album.

    I know I can click on the currently playing song to search for more of the same Album/Artist. But I want that option also when browsing through my collection. In any screen, like when browsing through rated songs: I want to click Search for more of the same Artist/Album.

  5. Widget for Tablet

    I appreciate that the widget is in beta, but it would be very handy to either have a bespoke size for tablet with volume control, or the ability to resize the widget also with the addition of volume control.

  6. Maybe color stars in... yellow

    It just impossible to see if stars are set or not with current scheme... I use 5 stars most of the time...

  9. The corner tab is to small on the current play list to easy to fat finger the song and wipe out the play list I think it should be resizable

  13. Make a grid view of album art as on the desktop show art setting

    On a tablet it would be nice to be able to have the art showing in a grid array style as you can on the main program (by album title or artist) so you can tap the image to add the album to the playlist as you do now with the drop menu, with a tap to open it to the tracks.

  14. Make the star rating buttons bigger, or make an option to do so please.

    I have a rating system that involves giving songs half stars and it's kinda difficult for me to do so cause I have big fingers.

  15. Fix the System.AccessViolationException bug in the Library

    There is a bug that makes the Library impossible to use for some users, possibly related to how MediaMonkey itself handles errors.

    This bug is very rare, and I (the developer) have been completely unable to reproduce it. It is thus very hard to debug.

    If somebody that experiences this bug would allow me to remote control their computer, I might be able to figure it out. It would, of course, happen in such a way that the user could see everything I was doing, and could cancel it at any time.

  16. Allow the display of nested playlists.

    In Mediamonkey, I place some of my playlists within another playlist for organization. So, for instance, there might be a top-level category called "Classical" and individual playlists called "19th Century," "Modern," etc. However, the MMRemote app only displays playlists alphabetically, which can become cumbersome. It would be convenient if the app displayed playlists matching their organization in MediaMonkey.

  18. Play songs remote and local same time.

    Play the recent Song on both devices, remote and local.
    When I switch rooms frequently, would be nice to connect my hi-fi to my phone audio. While still playing on my computer remotely the same track.

  19. The ability to launch MM minimized or to tray

    Great app! Just like MM remote launches to the tray I would like it if MM would also be launched to the tray. I run a headless system with limited capabilities and I hope to save some resources from having MM minimized also whenever I remote into the machine, main MM window always needs resizing
