How can the MediaMonkey Remote be improved?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  5. Server will not run

    When I try to run the app in Windows 10, it says it is running already, however it is not in the tray. I can't open the app to get it configured.

    I've tried to follow the FAQ, but the links to things like the windows log aren't active and I'm not sure what information you need or how to obtain it. Thanks for your help.

  6. Include "play next" on tracks

    Seems only play now or play last can be selected. Play next woyld be a nice option.

  8. Password setting on server

    If the server part had an optional setting to configure a password, and the remote app had a corresponding password setting, it would be possible to prevent someone else on the network from just downloading the mobile app and taking control of MediaMonkey. This would be especially useful when the features that allow things like shutting down the computer are enabled!

    Hi there! Sorry, I didn't see this before for some reason. With the permission system, you can in practice do this -- just make the default permissions as restricted as you want (in the server => Remotes => Permissions), then grant the remotes you want to have more permissions everything else.

    Make the forum great again (and online) so people can discuss about Media Monkey 5 and share they're idea concerning MMremote ;).
    This way you'll get more motivated to get on the train of changes (btw you better never step out of it ^^).

  10. Ignore the "the" when sorting artists

    I was kind of surprised this doesn't seem to be an option. Can you please add this as a coice in settings? Very frustrating to have a ton of artists sorted under "the." Thank you for the great remote!

  11. Start MM on connect

    In Miscellanious Settings on Remote Server.
    It can detect that MM is not running, it can start it anyway. Make it to start MM on event (connection).
    It seems to be not difficult and very useful - really, if I've started MMRemoteApp, I obviously want to use my MediaMonkey without extra taps (or walking to my mediacenter).

  12. continue to play the following songs on the album after the one you chose

    I don't use playlists so much, so I would like that, when I click a song, it just starts playing the album from that song (same as in the MM PC version). As an option, of course :)

    The vertical layout is still mostly identical, but I have made a better horizontal layout.

  19. Keep your version page up-to-date

    Right now, I am running MMRemote server version 2.7 and app version 2.9. Meanwhile, http://www.mmremote.net/Version/ claims that the most recent version of each is 2.6.

    This is probably why my MMRemote says 'automatic update check failed' all the time.

  20. Add Song as next in playlist.

    For now it's possible to play a song immediately or put it at the end of the playlist. I'd propose a third option like in the original MM to add selected song as next in playlist.
