How can the MediaMonkey Remote be improved?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Play/pause, previous/next without unlocking

  2. Timer for shut down

    a timer for the shut down would be great. something like:
    - shut down now
    - shut down in ... minutes

    so you can listen music in bed and the laptop wont work the whole nigth ^^

    The vertical layout is still mostly identical, but I have made a better horizontal layout.

    I’m especially interested in testers with 7 inch tablets, as I have no idea how this looks on that size.

  6. Mute/lower volume when receiving a call

    When the phone running the remote receives a phone call, mute or lower the volume of the music playing in MediaMonkey.

    UPDATE: Implemented. Will come with the next update!

    Needs additional, possibly scary, permissions which I am reluctant to add to the app itself. It might be possible using some kind of plugin functionality, though. I’m researching.

  7. add to or remove from playlist

    It would be good to have 'add to/remove from playlist' to the actions available for tracks

  8. Show lyrics stored on my PC through the MiniLyrics plug in

    I have installed the MiniLyrics lyrics editor and player as an add-on to MediaMonkey. So I can store, edit and watch synchronised lyrics on my PC.
    Its a great add-on, specially because most of my collection is in FLAC, with no way to embed the lyrics in the file.

    The thing I would love would be to be able to watch the lyrics showing on my Android phone when i use it as a remote.

  12. continue to play the following songs on the album after the one you chose

    I don't use playlists so much, so I would like that, when I click a song, it just starts playing the album from that song (same as in the MM PC version). As an option, of course :)

  13. Start MM on connect

    In Miscellanious Settings on Remote Server.
    It can detect that MM is not running, it can start it anyway. Make it to start MM on event (connection).
    It seems to be not difficult and very useful - really, if I've started MMRemoteApp, I obviously want to use my MediaMonkey without extra taps (or walking to my mediacenter).

  15. Display more information in the "Now playing" tab

    Information such as bitrate and filetype can help us separate otherwise identical tracks from each other.

  16. star rating displayed the same as Media Monkey for Android or Windows - ie. as a row of 5 stars

    basically copy the display of MMA rather than the dial graphic which I find difficult to see on a small phone on a sunny day...

  17. Browse by Classification (Mood, Occasion, Speed)

    Media Monkey has this amazing classification feature. Imagine you prepared a wonderful date at home with your love. As the time goes by you choose the suitable music by mood with just two clicks. An easy way to add flavour to your date or to your party in seconds :-)

  18. Allow searching for folder/filename

    If the library is properly organized, searching for folders and filenames can be very helpful.

    Implemented.

    File names can be searched bychoosing “Tracks” in the search type dropdown, and entering something in the “File name” field (will technically search the entire path).

    Folders can be searched by choosing “Folders” in the search type dropdown.

    Will come with the next update.

  19. Show album art in playlist

    Show the track's album art in the "Now playing" list.
