Playing the music through the phone/tablet
Being able to play the music being played on your computer on your phone/tablet.
192 votesThis is something I would like to take a look at, but as it is not really related to a remote, I won’t include it in the remote.
EDIT: Commenters agree, this feature is unfit for MMRemote. You can now use the official MediaMonkey app to do this, or unrelated apps like AirFoil.

Voice control
I often listen to music from my PC while cooking or washing up, and being able to switch tracks by shouting "next" rather than shoving my greasy, wet, soapy fingers all over my phone would be awesome.

Control volume by using the +/- buttons of the smartphone. Also while screen is off.
Enable to use the +/- buttons of the smartphone to control volume or maybe switch track. Also while screen is off.
37 votesUPDATE: Unfortunately, this is not something that is easily doable in Android. It is doable, but for an app like this, the battery drainage would not be worth it (like it often is with media player apps).
However, a workaround would be to activate the Hardware volume override in settings, and also check “Keep screen on”.
OLD MESSAGE:
Note: Already partially implemented; Settings => General => Hardware volume buttons. However, the current implementation does only work when the app is active (and in front). I can make it work while the app is “minimized” too, but I cannot reliably make it work when the screen is off.

Support for Skip Counter (MM4)
When skipping to the next track, actually increasing the Skip Counter of the current track before moving to the next track would be consistent with the behaviour of MediaMonkey 4. It is also nice for users of auto rating scripts such as AutoRateAccurate. :)
26 votesSorry, nothing I can do about this.

Chromecast support for your MM library.
Being able to cast to TV from MM remote. If so cool if not keep up the great work. Thanks
22 votesHere’s one way to do it, as described by Steve:
(Unfortunately, I am unable to automate this into the remote.)
1. Download Avia on your device from the Google play store.
2. Within the Avia app, you must purchase the casting option which will
cost you $4.99
3. Now assuming that your MMRemote server, your PC,.your Chromecast, and
the device you are using are all connected to the same network.
4. You can then open the Avia app and choose media database and it will
choose MM automatically.
5. From there you will see 3 options.. you will choose music
6. Then all songs
7. All of your music library from MM will appear
8. From there choose a song or album from your MM library hit play then the
cast icon and there you go your watching and listening to your MM library
on your TV. Hope this was… -

As mentioned in the comments, the official MediaMonkey app can do this. And since it’s not exactly a “remotey” feature, I won’t implement this at this time.

Option to "Send to Android" device for sync.
My android phone is synced using MM on PC and i only store the tracks that i love in my phone. Currently i use the remote to rate a track 5 stars and then later i go to the Smart playlist in PC to have the tracks listed and i then use the option from there to sync it to my phone.
As the playlist already has a option to send to device (Atleast in MM pro), i would love to skip past the rating thing and send the track straight to my phone, which is synced with dropbox, which…
12 votesSounds like something that should be MediaMonkey’s job, not the remote’s. I’m closing this, but if somebody really thinks this should be the remote’s job, let me know exactly what you want the remote to do (I didn’t quite grasp the details, I think), and I’ll consider opening it again. :)

Download songs (remotely) from computer's playlist(s)
Download songs from playlist(s) (some or all from particular playlist) to device without syncing whole library. (my phone has very limited storage and my desktop collection is way to big). Let say you just made new playlist on your computer. You love it and wish to listen to it on your way. You don't have time to "play" with cables. You press one button on mmremote and songs are downloading to your device while you taking the shower.
I'm not sure if it's possible but it would be even better to sync files on device after modifying playlist on the…11 votesThis is one of the key features of MediaMonkey for Android, I recommend that app instead for file synchronization.

Android Server
Would be great to have the server part on Android as well!
I was considering the following:
Have an Android tablet on my amp to play music in Party mode.
When I'm far away and to lazy to walk there, would be great to control the play list with my phone.
This would even allow to run MM on an hidden phone/tablet and be able to control it via (multiple!) phones... :)9 votesSorry, that’s not possible due to the technical limitations of the MediaMonkey player on Android (and possibly the Android OS itself).

Closing this, as it falls under two other suggestions:
Restrict remote library to specific collection: https://mmremote.uservoice.com/forums/216825-general/suggestions/5262678-restrict-remote-library-to-specific-collection
and
better sort capabilities.: https://mmremote.uservoice.com/forums/216825-general/suggestions/4559817-better-sort-capabilities

Play Music on the Phone / Tablet, but not the song thats now Playing in Media Monkey
It would be perfekt to be able to controll the Mediamonkey on the one hand and on the other hand having also the possibillity of hearing another song on the Tablet/Phone.
As Example,
- Is the next song the wright song,
- if the playlist is nearly empty try another song
to hear first on the Tablet and afterwords
put it in the Server Playlist.Best Regards
Thomas9 votesSorry, no support for music playback is planned. The official MediaMonkey app can already do that. :)

Ability to fade in selected "play NOW" track, as opposed to "straight cut".
It would be nice if this could be implemented, it would be useful in situations where rather than "chopping" a now playing track, a fade in/out would be smoother. (I hope this makes sense to all) Thankyou.
8 votesCannot be controlled from the outside of MM.

Wake-On-LAN when phone gets in range of home Wi-Fi
It would be nice if the PC i use for media could automatically turn on when i come home, and turn off when i leave. the leaving part can be tricky but using WoL when getting into Wi-Fi range shouldn't be too difficult.
one possible enhancement is start playing when the PC finished booting.8 votesSorry, I have to prioritize, and this falls outside of the scope of this project, since it is intended to be a remote for MediaMonkey, and not every other useful thing. :) I’m sure you can find another app that can do this already!

Searching in the "Now playing" list
If the list is huge, it would help a lot to be able to search for spesific tracks.
6 votesNot easily solved, and too few supporters to make it worth the time. :)

make an index stored on the phone of your music files so searching goes faster
it would really improve the app when an index is made and stored on the phone. thank you :)
5 votesI have improved the search performance a lot in the coming update (v2.5, not yet released), so that hopefully solves your issues.
As for an index, I don’t think that’s going to happen, since it’s a LOT of work for a little gain in performance.
